At the Fall Conference of the Department of Texas, Southern Division National Vice Commandant Johnny Gothard presented the Recruiter of the Year Award to Sean Downey. Sean is the Commandant of the Rio Grande Valley Detachment and one of the founding members.
The official number of members recruited by Downey at the end of the fiscal year was 34.
